Art+ Exhibition at St Katharine's Precinct. October 2017, Opening event Sat 7th.
We would like to thank everyone who came to our exhibition opening on Saturday, members and friends alike. It was a great success and such a wonderful day. We would also like to thank everyone who donated to our gofundme, you helped make this exhibition happen and your support is much appreciated by all at BowHaven. We would also like to thank Claire and the team at St Katharine’s, you are fantastic hosts and a huge benefit to the community. This exhibition is about raising awareness of mental health issues and giving our members the opportunity to share their creativity with others and in the process raise their confidence through expression, art and community. Here are some pictures from the opening event, we will upload more soon....until then and again, a big Thankyou!

BowHaven Art+ were kindly invited to exhibit work at Muxima cafe in Roman road. This collaboration was about making links between the community and as a way of raising awareness of mental health issues. We are very grateful to Issac and Bob at Muxima who gave us this opportunity and very happy to make new friends. This cross community engagement is very important. Thank you.
November 10th 2016.
BowHaven and Art+ celebrated World Mental Health Day with a small exhibition on our gallery wall at the centre. Our group has been growing lately with many new members joining. The Art produced is as diverse as the many different people that make up our community. We are already preparing for our Christmas exhibition which will start in early December and we will post its progress here, so watch this space...
April 8th 2016.
Some images from our first BowHaven Art+ exhibition @ the Idea Store in Bow. We are very proud of all our members who contributed work to the show. This exhibition really shows the hard work, talent and dedication of Art+'s members and showcases some of the work that they have made over the past 10 months. The diversity of life experience and character is reflected in the diversity of the art on display. Each artist has his or her own voice & style, and those individual elements have come together to create a vibrant, exciting & stimulating exhibition. Mental health issues are often kept in the shadows, by their own nature, but art and creativity can help shed light on the experiences that many of us have and in the process provide an insight into the lives of other's, both near and far. The Art+ group and BowHaven would like to thank Jackie (curator) and all of the team at the Ideas store for their support, patience and the opportunity to make this exhibition happen.
